Seeing a film at Leicester Square

Seeing a film at Leicester Square

[ Nov.2015 ] We went to Leicester Square in London, England, to see a film for the first time in a while.

Here is the place you can see actors and directors walking on the red carpets on the premiere of new films.

When they have such events, they put in place partitions from the morning and people come and queue for hours for a chance to see their favourite celebrities.

I used to work nearby and one evening after work, when I came into the square, Jim Carey came by a double-decker bus.

My eyes met his, so I waved.

He waved back to me, too.

This square was laid out in the 1670s.

It was a residential area in those early days, but by the 19th century it was already famous as an entertainment venue and many theatres were found here.

The film we saw on the day was “Carol”, which was an extraordinary love story featuring Cate Blanchett.

When we got out of the cinema, the square was very lively with the fun fair.
