[ Sept.2006 ] The bustling shopping district in Shmlar in India is called Mall.
This area is upper side of the town which is on the slope with many houses piled up, so I remember that we went up there by taking two lifts.
There we visited Christ Church and a theatre where Michael Palin, a member of Monty Python as well as a well known traveller, had been on the stage.
After that, we had a time for shopping.
I remember that I was drawn to one deep red shawl on a window and went into the shop getting away from the tour group.
I am still using this shawl every winter.
