Visit the castle

Visit the castle

[ Sept.2013 ] Prague castle is not one building, but several building complex within the castle wall.

If you do not enter any of these buildings, you can walk through the site without paying any money, but if you want to visit some, you have to buy the ticket.

There were some kinds of ticket, but we were greedy enough to but the one with which we can visit most of the buildings.

That cost 350 CZK (about 14 euro) and extra 50 CZK for taking photos.

So we visited St.

Vitus Cathedral, Basilica of St.George, Old Royal Palace and Rosenberg Palace and walked in the Golden Lane, all of which were full of tourists.

I am sure last time I visited here (19 years ago), at least the Golden Lane was free to walk, but now there are some machines like the ones at the ticket barriers in railway stations.

This is the result of becoming big tourist destination, I thought.

We could have visited more with this ticket, but by now everyone was tired.

So we headed for the cafe in Lobkowicz Palace, which was recommended in my guide book.

It was crowded here, too, but eventually we found a table on the balcony and ordered “today’s soup”.

The soup was a clear soup with some pastas in it, which was disappointing.

My Italian friends were saying ” this is exactly like the one they serve in hospitals”
