Dinner in a Village with Thatched Houses

Dinner in a Village with Thatched Houses

[ May, 2015 ] In the evening of the day that we enjoyed in Dartmoor, in the southwest of England, we had dinner in a village called North Bovey.

Widecombe, the village we went to in the afternoon, was pretty, with stone houses, but here most of the houses had white walls and thatched roofs, which were very attractive.

The name of the pub we went to was The Ring of Bells.

The roof here was thatched too, and they have some rooms people can stay in as well.

I ate the fresh lamb, which was very good.

My husband had a huge plate of fish and chips, which was very good, too.

Later, he tried the fish and chips in another place, but said the food in this pub was much better.

It was very satisfying evening, but there was one problem.

The road to get here was very narrow.

One car could just about pass through.

Especially on the way back, our friend had to drive in the pitch dark and he was very, very nervous.

I felt sorry for him.
