Mystery of ‘White Arrow’ train

Mystery of ‘White Arrow’ train

[February, 2012] This is the train called White Arrow, which we took from Genoa to Milan.

It took less than 2 hours and stopped only at Pavia.

Very nice and clean, too.

BUT…

The ticket we bought said that my seat is car No.3, seat No.72, but in the car No.3 the highest seat number was 65! Luckily it was not crowded, so we took an empty seat.

The conductor came round to see the ticket, so we asked about this.

He said ‘ today we do not have many passengers, so we use the shorter cars’, which does not answer our question.

My husband said ‘ if it was full, it would have been a problem, wouldn’t it’.

He answered,’ well in that case, we will find an empty seat’.

I thought being full means there are no empty seats…
