Hong Kong is one of Asia’s most vibrant destinations, where futuristic skyscrapers, historic temples, bustling street markets and green mountain landscapes exist side by side. Located on China’s southern coast, this Special Administrative Region has developed a distinctive identity shaped by both Chinese traditions and more than 150 years of British administration. The result is a city that feels both deeply rooted in its heritage and unmistakably international.
For many visitors, Hong Kong is synonymous with its spectacular skyline overlooking Victoria Harbour. Yet beyond the famous panoramic views lies a destination of remarkable diversity. Traditional neighbourhoods, colourful markets, peaceful temples, fishing villages, outlying islands and scenic hiking trails reveal a side of Hong Kong that many first-time travellers do not expect. Efficient public transport makes it easy to move between busy commercial districts and quiet natural landscapes within a short time.

Riding the historic Star Ferry, exploring lively street markets, visiting hilltop viewpoints and walking through neighbourhoods where old shops stand beside modern towers allowed us to experience the many different faces of Hong Kong. It is a place where innovation and tradition continue to coexist naturally.

Together with its outstanding food culture, efficient transport system and rich cultural heritage, this contrast makes Hong Kong one of the most fascinating cities to explore in Asia.
