For many travellers, Çeşme is synonymous with summer. Located on Turkey’s Aegean coast, the town combines turquoise waters, stylish marinas and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle that attracts both local visitors and international tourists.

Unlike larger seaside resorts, Çeşme still preserves much of its historic character. Narrow streets lined with stone houses lead towards the harbour, where fishing boats share the waterfront with luxury yachts. Restaurants specialise in freshly caught seafood, while open-air cafés invite visitors to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere.

One of the town’s landmarks is the impressive Ottoman fortress overlooking the bay. Nearby, the Archaeological Museum provides insight into the area’s maritime history and the important naval battle fought here in the eighteenth century.

The coastline offers something for everyone. Families often choose Ilıca Beach for its shallow waters, while water sports enthusiasts head to nearby Alaçatı, one of Europe’s best windsurfing destinations. Hidden coves and quiet beaches can also be found by exploring the surrounding peninsula.

Whether you’re looking for culture, seaside relaxation or outdoor activities, Çeşme offers one of the most enjoyable coastal escapes in western Turkey.
