Turkey is one of the world’s most fascinating travel destinations, a country where Europe and Asia meet and where history, culture and natural beauty come together in an extraordinary way. Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea and crossed by the Bosphorus, Turkey preserves the legacy of some of history’s greatest civilizations, from the Hittites and Greeks to the Romans, Byzantines and Ottomans. Lively cities, archaeological sites, unique landscapes and renowned cuisine make every journey rich and memorable.

Many journeys begin in Istanbul, the only major city in the world located on two continents. Here visitors can discover iconic landmarks such as Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar and the atmospheric Bosphorus. Other unforgettable destinations include Cappadocia, famous for its fairy chimneys and hot-air balloon flights, the white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, the archaeological site of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean, the capital Ankara, the Turquoise Coast with places such as Antalya, Bodrum and Fethiye, as well as Mount Nemrut, the Black Sea region and numerous UNESCO sites.

During our travels we discovered a Turkey full of contrasts, where ancient traditions coexist with modern and dynamic cities. Walking through Istanbul’s historic neighbourhoods, exploring millennia-old archaeological sites, watching the sunrise over Cappadocia, relaxing along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts and experiencing local hospitality allowed us to appreciate a country that offers many different kinds of journeys. Each region has its own identity, cuisine and landscapes.
