Syracuse

Syracuse is one of Sicily’s most captivating destinations and one of the Mediterranean’s greatest historic cities. Founded by Greek settlers in 734 BC, it became one of the most powerful cities of Magna Graecia and today is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Necropolis of Pantalica. The historic heart of the city is Ortigia, a small island connected to the mainland by two bridges.
