Tunisia is one of North Africa’s most fascinating destinations, a country where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Sahara Desert, creating a remarkable blend of history, culture and natural beauty. Located just a short distance from Europe, Tunisia preserves an extraordinary heritage of ancient Roman cities, UNESCO-listed medinas, oases, Berber villages and long sandy beaches. Shaped by Phoenician, Roman, Arab and Ottoman influences, the country offers a rich cultural identity that makes every journey unique.

Many journeys begin in Tunis, the capital, where the modern Ville Nouvelle stands alongside the historic Medina, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby are the famous ruins of Carthage, once one of the most powerful cities of the ancient world, and the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said, known for its white houses with blue doors and windows overlooking the Mediterranean. Other highlights include Kairouan, one of Islam’s most important historic cities, the Roman amphitheatre of El Jem, the mountain oases of Chebika, Tamerza and Midès, the Sahara Desert, the island of Djerba, and coastal towns such as Sousse and Monastir.

During our travels we discovered a Tunisia full of history, colour and hospitality. Walking through ancient medinas, visiting Roman archaeological sites, crossing desert landscapes, exploring traditional villages and experiencing local culture allowed us to appreciate a country where Mediterranean and North African influences coexist beautifully. The variety of landscapes and the warmth of the people make every itinerary especially memorable.
