Greece is a country where history and everyday life are closely connected. Often regarded as the birthplace of Western civilisation, it is home to ancient temples, Byzantine monasteries, picturesque islands and landscapes that have inspired travellers for centuries. From archaeological treasures to crystal-clear seas, every region offers a different perspective on a country that has shaped European culture for more than two thousand years.

Many visitors begin their journey in Athens, where the Acropolis overlooks the modern city and reminds travellers of Greece’s extraordinary historical legacy. Beyond the capital, however, the country reveals an incredible variety of destinations. The Peloponnese is rich in archaeological sites, Meteora is famous for its monasteries perched on towering rock formations, while islands such as Crete, Rhodes, Corfu and Santorini each have their own traditions, architecture and landscapes. Travelling through Greece means discovering places that are remarkably different despite being part of the same country.

During our journeys we enjoyed exploring not only the famous landmarks but also the quieter side of Greece. Walking through traditional villages, visiting local markets, driving along scenic coastal roads and stopping in family-run tavernas allowed us to experience the warmth and hospitality for which the Greek people are renowned. These moments often became some of the most memorable parts of our travels.
