[July, 2011] Sweaters from Aran Islands in Ireland are famous all over the world.
I went to the largest island in Aran a few years ago.
It was a bleak place.
I heard that each family knitted sweaters in different patterns so that they can recognise the dead body of fishermen.
Now there are not so many people there to knit sweaters commercially and this one was knitted in mainland.
According to the certificate, this pattern belongs to Doherty family.
I bought this in the Aran Sweater Market in Killarney.
