[ May 2016 ] It was a hot day when we went up to the Bratislava Castle in Slovakia. So on the way back, we stopped at the Castle Brewery. The black beer there was nice and sweet, though the interior of the pub was rather bare. My husband had two glasses of 500ml and I had one, and altogether it was a little more than 5 euros, which was very reasonable.
From there, on the way down to the old town, we found a lovey shop and did a bit of shopping. They had very nice bits and pieces but the woman there was not very friendly unfortunately. And then we came across this gorgeous Slovak National Theatre (photo). Apparently this was built in 1886. We went in and got a programme, hoping that we could see something there during our stay. But in the end, because we did not have enough time, we had to give up.
