[August, 2011] We visited a lot of churches and monasteries in this Ancient Macedonia tour we joined.
This St.Joakim Osogovski is the first monastery we visited and situated in a mountain in Macedonia near the border of Bulgaria.
It was founded in the mid 12th century.
Inside these beautiful buildings are full of religious fresco pictures, which reminded me of an old Japanese tale of a boy who painted himself with Buddhist sutra all over his body.
This photo was taken in the evening, but the next morning, we had a brief Yoga lesson here which was wonderful!
