[ Mar.2015 ] On a sunny Saturday, we went to a historical town of St Albans, just outside of London.
My main purpose was the outdoor market which is held on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
Apparently there is the Royal Charter granted in 1553, but the market has been there as far back as the 9th century.
So I was curious to see this historical market, but the size was smaller than expected.
And the goods they were selling were mixture of wheat and chaff.
There were vegetable stalls like this one in the photo, but also some stalls selling expensive looking antiques.
Also there were stalls of materials which can be used in factories and next to that there was a stall selling some craft works. My destination was a stone booth which sells unusual semi-precious stone accessories.
I did the good shopping there.
This stall seemed one of the regulars here.
They say that up to 60% of traders have been there for 20 years or more.
