[ Mar.2014 ] A friend of mine invited us to a small concert by her friend.
It was held in a cafe in the famous book shop in London, Foyles.
Foyles has been famous because it is the biggest book shop in the world.
When I came to London for the first time, yes, this shop was big, but messy.
The books were even on the floor.
The order on the shelf was not by the authors, but the publishers, so it was difficult to find a book I wanted.
There were boxes on the floor where a person received the money from the customers.
The customers had to go to another place to get the book with the receipt.
It was after the owner, an old lady called Chiristina Foyles died in 1999, they renewed and updated the shop.
I remeber the new owner was saying in the press conference, that Christina hated computers and she did not allow her staff to use them, either.
Now this Foyles is going to move from the current place which their flag ship shop has been for more than 100 years to just next door.
This next door used to be Central St.Martins College, which is a famous design college.
My friend’s friend has been regularly holding concerts in Foyles, but because of this move, they will pause for a while.
I am looking forward to the new shop.
Online shopping is predominant now, but I still like browsing in a book shop, don’t you?
