A boy called Vahei

A boy called Vahei

[ Autumn, 2005 ] Armenian old graveyard is worth visiting.

This place is called Noraduz and it is full of old grave stones from 13th to 17th century.

These cross stones called Khachkar are carved intricately.

We saw others during this tour, but the ones here were yellowish with moss or rust and I thought they were even more beautiful.

Local people seemed using this place as a resting place.

There were a few women dressed like Turkish country side farmers and children.

One of the children gave me a bunch of grass he picked up — yes, I was quite popular in Armenia 🙂 His name was Vahei, a shy boy with a pretty smile, perhaps 13-14 years old.

About 8 years has passed since then.

I wonder how he is now…
