[August, 2011] Aleksandur Nevski Church is the largest church in Sofia, Bulgaria.
It took 30 years to build from 1882.
It can contain 5000 people, apparently.
Our guide said that Bulgarian people are not so religious, but maybe because the day we were there was some saint’s day, a lot of people holding flowers were queuing to kiss the icons and make the sign of the cross many times.
I realised that this is the actual Icon Worship.
