[ May, 2016 ] In the afternoon, we joined the tour which we had booked beforehand. It is a tour on a boat going down the Garonne river from Bordeaux in France to the winery in Medoc in France. Marie, the guide expained various things one after another. We saw three bridges, one was Pont de Pierre which was built in 1822 (because of the muddy riverbed, it was difficult to make a bridge here till then), the second one was the newest which was built in 2013 (it moves up as high as more than 50 meters to let boats pass), and the suspension bridge which is the nearest to the sea. After that, the width of the river became wide. There were many huts like this photo with the fishing net and these are only for leisure activities now. We saw some river cruise ships, too. Also, we saw the wine museum called Cite du Vin, which was still under construction. I was surprised to hear that they did not have any wine museums before, but this one seemed special. Apparently it opened after our visit at the end of May, after costing much more money than expected.
