[ Apr.2015 ] According to our guide book, the town of Polis, situated near the west end of Cyprus, seemed like a fairly large tourist town.
But when we went there, we found it a small quiet town.
Surely, there was an area with many restaurants and bars that were targeting tourists, but there was hardly anyone there.
Some vacant shops were noticeable.
The business did not seem buoyant.
When we walked around the town, we saw a small wedding at one corner of a park.
There were only the couple, two witnesses, someone from the authorities and a photographer, but the couple looked very happy.
We had a rest at a cafe in a square and had a glass of orange juice.
In Cyprus, they have so many oranges that they do not care even if many fall on the ground.
