[Dec.2012] In Taiwan, there are many many restaurants or stands where you can eat and people are eating everywhere and at any time.
Many Asian countries are like that.
But in the underground in Taipei, you mustn't eat at all.
Even chewing gum is not allowed.
If you are found eating something, you have to pay the fine of 7500 NT$ (about 225 euro).
So the trains are clean and you can sit down and relax, not like the tube in London where some people have a dinner in it.
The underground in Taipei is called MRT and it is an important transport in the city.
I bought a prepaid card of 300 NT$ as my friend recommended it.
