Time it takes to get a fortune slip

Time it takes to get a fortune slip

[Dec.2012] On the third day of our Taiwan holiday, we met up with a friend from Tokyo and her Taiwanese friends.

We all went to Sanxia, a town outside of Taipei.

The highlight here is Tzushu Temple which is famous for its carvings.

According to our Taiwanese friend who guided us, Dragon, his wife Phoenix, and their 9 children (various animals) are carved all over the pillars, under the eaves and so on.

By the way, when we entered the temple, a man was slapping a couple of something round on to the floor.

Our friend asked him what he was doing as she herself did not know, and found that it was a part of the procedure to get a fortune slip.

We learned whole process, but it was too complicated to remember and also it seemed to take a long time.

Taiwanese people are so religious…
