[August 2012] We went to see the famous Troy with our tour group.
I remember learning Schliemann as a remarkable person who fulfilled his dream and belief that Troy really existed, but in fact, he was just a thief who took the treasure from the ruin.
Those treasures were kept in a museum in Berlin for a while and then taken to Russia after the WW2 and they are still there.
According to Erol, our tour guide, Schleimann decided to live doing his favourite archaeological activities and quitted his business at the age of 55.
First, he divorced his wife and looked for a woman who were interested in Homer, and found one young Greek woman to marry.
And he concentrated on treasure hunting.
By the way, Troy has 9 stages depending to the era and even now they are keeping excavating apparently.
