[ May, 2014 ] Peel in Isle of Man is a quiet fishing town, but there is a well made fine museum called House of Manannan.
Manannan is a sea god in Celtic myth, and it is said that he was the first person who lived in this island.
Here in the museum, they show the history of Isle of Man, people’s traditional way of living and so on using life size dolls and sound in order to make it easy to understand.
I enjoyed the re-creation of a viking boat and the smell of the kipper yard.
The museum closed at 5pm.
We got out and found that the town was deserted.
It was too early to go to the restaurant.
We felt lost for a while, then found a pub.
The people here was nice and cheeful, too.
They let us taste their local beer.
