[October, 2012] I love ballet.
I gave up becoming a professional dancer long time ago, but still, I sometimes go and see performances.
In England the top company is the Royal Ballet.
Usually I am at the anphitheatre near the ceiling in Royal Opera House, but this time I saw Swan Lake on one of the seats at orchestra stalls and it was nearly the centre in the fifth row! From here you can see the dancers very near and you can feel the live performance strongly.
Also, you can see the set of the stage clearly and they looked wonderful.
On the other hand, maybe because I could not see the depth of the stage, I felt that too many people were on the stage.
In this production, they use a lot of children, which was noticeable.
Odette was Sarah Lamb and Siegfried was Rupert Pennefather.
