[August 2012] I always wanted to visit Pamukkale in Turkey.
I have seen many photos with white terraced field with pail blue water.
Unexpected thing was how we encounter this area.
This white area is in the middle of ordinary brown hill, which is not so mysterious, unfortunately.
The image with people bathing in the hot spring water is famous, but apparently now only one part of the whole area has water and depending on the day, the area changes.
So there are areas which are totally white and dry like this photo.
Visitors can walk around where the water is running without shoes.
It was an interesting experience, but it was sooooo hot and sooooo crowded!
The hotel that night was near here and they had the thermal pool with the same water.
The temperature was about 38 degree and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
