[june 2012] In the evening of the day I spent all day in Lipari, one of the Eolian Islands, I had a taxi tour around the island. The driver suggested this hour of the day to do this tour because the sun light was the best to see the wonderful view here.
This island used to produce a building material called pomice, but because it was listed as the World Heritage, the production has been stopped.
The talkative driver called Gianfranco picked up a stone which is a mixture of pomice and obsidian which is used for accessories and others, and gave it to me as a souvenir.
I took it home, though it was heavy.
