[ Jan.2016 ] We flew from Buenos Aires to Iguazu to see the waterfalls which are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage.
A part of the waterfalls is in Argentina and the other part is in Brazil.
When we landed, we found that the surrounding area was rain forest and the colour of the area reminded me of Bali when I went a long time ago.
We did not go to the hotel, but went over to Brazil straight away.
At the border, the private cars were making a long queue, but our tour bus was put before them, so we went into Brazil easily.
By the way, Japanese people need the visa for Brazil and have to get it beforehand.
The Europeans do not need it.
The waterfalls were as powerful as I expected.
When we walked on the esplanade, we sometimes got wet.
Although we were wearing the raincoats which we bought at the entrance of this national park, we got soaked at one point.
According to our tour leader, the falls have the shape of a J and the length is 2.5 km.
The number of individual falls is usually 275, but sometimes as many as 300 and other times only 150.
When the water level rises, some of the falls join, so the total number is smaller.
On the day when we were there, the water was too much, so the boat trips which go behind the falls were cancelled unfortunately.
The colour of the water was like caffe latte, which was not really beautiful.
