[Aug. 2025] We visited Clusone in Northern Italy for my husband’s Tai Chi event.

We had a reservation for lunch at a restaurant called Commercio Mas-Ci’.
We had actually visited this restaurant in June and loved it so much that we decided to return.
The restaurant appears to be part of a hotel, and with tables covered in white tablecloths, it has a slightly upscale feel.
However, the staff were very nice, and in addition to their efficient service, they also had a friendly, warm atmosphere that made it a very pleasant experience.
This time, we shared the region’s bresaola and pickled vegetables for a starter, and I had Carre’ di Agnello (roasted lamb on the bone) for the main course.

As I may have mentioned before, having lived in the UK for many years, I’m very familiar with lamb and enjoy it, but where we live now in Northern Italy, it’s not commonly sold in supermarkets.
So, whenever I see it on a restaurant menu, I almost always order it.
The lamb here was incredibly tender and the portion was generous, so I was very satisfied.
It was served with their special salt.
It came with potatoes, polenta, and mushrooms as side dishes, but they were a bit too heavy, so I gave most of it to my husband.

My husband chose orange risotto for his main course.
It didn’t look very impressive, but he said the orange cream sauce was delicious.
We remembered that the wine we had last time was recommended to us and was really good, so we ordered it again by showing the photo I had taken that time.
It was a Merlot called Le Corne Vento Fermo, and it was just as good as we expected.
For dessert, I had a rather unusual mojito semifreddo.

The bitter semifreddo was topped with sweet meringue and caramel, which made for a delicious combination.
My husband ordered the pistachio semifreddo with raspberry sauce.
With coffee added, the bill came to €114, which felt like a great value.
We’ll definitely be back.
