Skyscrapers in London

[ Nov.2014 ] On one sunny Sunday, we had a walk around the City of London.

As it was a weekend, there were not many people and those new skyscrapers were noticeable.

The front of this photo is one called Walkie Talkie because of its shape.

This 34 floor building was completed this year.

There was a news last year that a part of a car was melted because this building’s glass surface gathered the sun light and reflected on the car.

Near this building, there is another new tall building called Cheese Grater which has 48 floors.

Next to that is Gherkin built about 10 years ago.

In front of Cheese Grater, there is the Lloyd’s Building which was the frontrunner of the strange shaped buildings.

From the City, across the river, you can see the highest building in Europe, Shard, too.

In the past, Prince Charles raised his voice of opposing the construction of skyscrapers, but we do not hear him recently.
