Cheer up, Japanese tourism

Cheer up, Japanese tourism

[April, 2011] We travelled in Japan around one month after the earthquake and tsunami, and felt the difficulty of Japanese tourism.

Around this Lake Ashi, there were some souvenir shops which seemed soon to be closed down and did not have enough wrapping paper.

At a shop on the shore of Lake Kawaguchi, where I bought a rather big souvenir, people at the shop gave us a cup of coffee and came out of the shop to see us off.

The massager at Hakone told us that the number of her customer is now one third.
