The last lunch in Bordeaux

The last lunch in Bordeaux

[ May,2016 ] We had our last lunch at the restaurant called Le Noailles, which was recommended by Marian, the guide in our Saint-Emilion tour. The interior was classic and a bit formal. I noticed one stylish elderly woman wearing quite a few dainty necklaces with pearls and gold together, which was very nice. I ate oysters which are popular in Bordeaux as my starter. We ordered three, but six came. Never mind, because they were very good, big and fat. I chose scallops for the main and I was planning not to have any desserts, but they showed us the plate of desserts. Naturally I could not resist taking a strawberry tart, which was very good. Because we ate the seafood, we chose a bottle of white Bordeaux wine. It was quite rich and heavy for a white wine.

After lunch we went to the airport and found that our cheap flight home from France was leaving and arriving at the outhouse called “Billi”. It was a surprisingly simple shanty. They may be thinking that the cheap terminal is good enough for the cheap flights. We use these cheap flights quite frequently, not really because they are cheap, but because they fly directly to the interesting cities.
