[ Apr.2014 ] There is also a gorgeous monastery in Sinaia in Romania.
When we arrived, we heard a sound of something hitting a wooden board.
I wondered if it was a noise of some building work, but it sounded too rhythmic.
And there was a sound of the bell in the interval, too.
Our friends pointed the bell tower.
A monk was hitting the wooden board and then tolled the bell there.
This wooden board is called Toaca and this and the bell are one set for informing people that the mass is starting.
In the church, people came in sparsely and made the sign of the cross, and then some brushed their feet and others kissed the icons.
There were benches along the wall, which looked like the choir benches and some people were sitting there waiting for the mass.
We did not stay and went out.
Our friends put the candles they bought inside the church to the boxes outside.
There were two boxes, one was for preying for the already dead people and the other was for existing people.
Romanian people seem very religious.
I saw a young person making the sign of the cross just passing by a church by a car.
