[ Dec.2012] When our Taiwanese friend took us to Sanxia, not so far from Taipei, we experienced indigo dye ourselves.
That is because she saw a programme about indigo dye of Sanxia recently on TV, and told us that it looked very interesting.
Indeed, it was very interesting.
My husband got his glove broken and he dyed even his hand indigo blue.
I dyed a cotton scarf blue with a nice pattern.
I look forward to using it in spring.
Sanxia is the place where three rivers cross and there has been plenty of water which they use for the indigo dye.
So here was the centre of dyeing in Taiwan in the past.
Now the dyeing industry seems to have died down, but this workshop seemed very popular.
There was another group from abroad trying this and making their hands blue.
