[ Aug.2013 ] At the edge of Hora town in Naxos, there is a community centre.
When we were in Naxos, they were holding an exhibition and sale event of hand woven cloth.
I went in to have a look, and found they were very pretty.
They were mainly table cloths and centrepieces with blue and red patterns woven into the white background.
I asked the staff and found that they were woven by women in the inland village called Moni.
It is a traditional craft which has been passed on from mothers to daughters.
She said that each house has got a loom in Moni.
The proper way to decorate the centrepiece is to put it on a table with the middle part being squeezed.
I bought one.
I cannot help myself buying this kind of pretty handmade and traditional crafts and I buy them without thinking where to put or how to use and so on.
So later at home I get trouble to find some space…
