[September, 2011] This statue in Kiev is Macedonian brothers who taught Cyrillic language to Slavic people.
According to the guide who took us around the city told us that these two were priests from the Orthodox Church and made Cyrillic letters for the mission.
Now I have really understood.
Just about one month before, we had been in Ohrid in Macedonia and I had asked the guide there ‘ Macedonian language is very similar to Russian, isn’t it?’ and he had said ‘ Of course. We taught them our language’.
To be honest, I did not believe that at heart.
We saw some other statues and paintings of there brothers in Kiev.
