[ Sept.2015 ] There is another cable car in Dresden in Germany.
To be accurate, this one is a suspension railway and it was opened in May, 1901.
An engineer in Cologne invented it and it is the oldest of its kind in the world.
There was a observatory at the station on top of the hill and we could see a nice view of the Elbe valley, though we could not see the centre of Dresden, where there were many magnificent buildings.
There was a small museum there, too.
