[September 2012] There is German Gemstone Museum in Idar in Germany.
There are more than 10000 exhibits from all over the world.
It is worth a look.
I got very much interested in the stones and wanted to get the illustrated book sold there, but unfortunately it was only in German.
This town itself is not included in an English guidebook, so they are not expecting foreign visitors very much here in the museum, I suppose.
By the way, I remember my ex-colleague once said ”One’s interest moves to plants from people when you get older.
But when you get even older, it moves from plant to stones”.
Well it seems that I got to the stage of ‘stone’…
