[ Aug.2013 ] This is a photo of a failed statue of Kouros which was found in someone’s garden in inland of Naxos.
This was made in the 6th century BC, but there are so many of this kinds all over the place that they do not keep it in a museum.
Well, that is Greece, isn’t it.
In those days, marble statues were speciality in Naxos.
They made 70% here and carried to the destination by two boats, hanging the statue in the middle in the sea, and then they finished it at the destination.
I learned this from our tour guide of the tour we joined.
The guide this time was an Italian woman who has been living here for 14 years.
