[ May 2016 ] This is a photo of the Gnocco Fritto we ate which was very good. Gnocco Fritto is a sort of fried bread which is mainly eaten in Emilia Romagna in Italy. It is called Torta Fritta, too. It is light and crispy, and usually eaten with ham and salami as a starter. We ate this in a restaurant called Trattoria del Teatro in Fontanellato where we visited on the way back from our food shopping in Parma. We found this restaurant online after we arrived in the town and it was a great choice. It was unpretentious and full of local people and the staff was friendly. Because it was a nice sunny day, we had our lunch at the terrace. After the starter, I had a duck dish for the main and Sambuco sherbet for the dessert. We all were very satisfied with our lunch.
