[December, 2011] In Evora, Portugal, we stayed in a hotel called Pousada, which used to be a convent.
It became a luxurious hotel in 1965, apparently.
The lower building on the right in the photo is the one.
Our room was a suite situated as if it was an annex, decorated in mint colour.
The bathroom was nice, too.
I walked around the other part of the hotel and found that each cell for nuns was renovated to a guest room.
The location is excellent, too.
I recommend this.
By the way the Pousadas are all over Portugal.
There seems about 40 of them.
It is a bit more expensive than the ordinary hotels of this class, but staying here itself is an interesting experience.
