[ July, 2015 ] When we arrived in Reggio di Calabria in southern Italy, it was lunch time, so the first thing we did was looking for a restaurant.
The efficient person at our B&B recommended three restaurants, but two of them were closed for lunch on the day.
The third, “Via Roma” was open.
Because it was the third among the three, I was not expecting very much, but in fact it was an excellent restaurant.
I think this was the best among the places we went to on this holiday.
The photo is the mixture of seafood we had for the starter.
The fried mussels were really nice and light and the octopus was very fresh.
I chose tuna steak for the main which was very good, especially the onion relish was excellent.
My husband’s sea bream, which was wrapped in home made crisps, was very nice, too.
They served the local liqueur, Amaro del Capo, on the house.
One problem was that although they showed us the printed menu, many things were not there on the day.
I think it would be a good idea to ask them about the special for the day first.
