[ Mar.2014 ] There are a lot of ceramics shops in Toledo in Spain, too.
In the shop we just happened to enter, only a young man was there, and he was playing the Spanish guitar “Alhambra” .
When we were looking around, he stopped playing and started explaining.
Apparently in this shop, they reproduce old ceramics faithfully by hand.
He pointed out the collection which were blue patterns on the white background and said they were of 14th century, and the ones with fruits pattern were of 17th century.
Then he said ” there are more downstairs” and opened a door.
As you can see from the photo, it was a big shop, which we could not imagine from the display on the ground floor.
So many beautiful things were there, but in the end we bought one decorative plate painted in red which I fell in love with at first glance.
Original of this one was designed in the 16th century.
The name of the shop is J.Serrano.
So Serrano is not only for ham…
We seemed to have become a crowd puller and a lot of customers came in after us.
