[april 2012] I went to a sushi restaurant in Oumicho market in Kanazawa called Genpei.
I have not eaten sushi as good as this for a long time! Especially the seasonal firefly squid was fantastic.
According to the chef, his father started this restaurant 46 years ago.
In those days-or sometimes even now, sushi does not have clear prices, but here as you can see from the photo, the black and red lines show the prices clearly and that was the reason they became very popular, so much so that they often had a queue outside.
By the way, most of the conveyor belts for conveyor-belt sushi are made in Ishikawa prefecture where Kanazawa belongs.
