[ July, 2015 ] Rabarama is the pseudonym of the sculptor of this work.
When you walk along the promenade in Reggio di Calabria in southern Italy, you will never fail to see this.
Not only this one, but there were two more sculptures there.
Rabarama was born in 1969 in Rome and her real name is Paola Epifani.
Her parents were artists too and she showed her talent very early.
When she was 10, she had already submitted her work to an international competition.
There was an exhibition of her 70 works in Reggio di Calabria in 2007 and the city bought three of them for 660,000 euros.
Because they are very original and novel sculptures, there is disagreement about whether or not these works should be located in the most prestigious part of the city.
Nonetheless, they are certainly important tourist attractions.
