Portuguese people like cakes

Portuguese people like cakes

[ Nov.2014 ] The timing was not very good for eating when we arrived in Coimbra in Portugal.

The hotel receptionist told us “No, nothing is open at this time, excepet that one”.

So we went in to the cake shop and cafe she pointed out.

Because we wanted lunch rather than sweets, we chose something like Quiche and something which looked like a Swiss roll but instead of cream, there were ham, olive and raisin and instead of sponge cake, there was bread rolled up.

After that, we ate something which looked like a French toast, but tasted more like a donut.

All of them tasted very simple.

In the shop, it was bustled with fairly old people.
