[ May, 2014 ] There is a square called Plaza Nueva (new square) in the old town of Bilbao, Spain.
They call it ‘new’, but it was built in 1821.
The Basque language Royal Academy is there.
I read that every Sunday, they hold the flea market here, so we set off to see it.
In fact the square was just behind our hotel, but we asked people a few times and arrived finally.
The square was surrounded by a colonnade and maybe because it was a rainy day, the stands were all there under the roof.
They were mainly selling second hand books, but there was a stand selling birds, too.
The main customers in the market were old men.
