[June, 2012] This photo was taken at a town called Abbiategrasso in north Italy, about 22 km west of Milan.
This is a medieval town with a castle and a palace, but the name is interesting.
‘Abbiate’ is one form of the word whose meaning is ‘have’ and ‘grasso’ is fat, or fat people.
Maybe they wanted to show their richness in the name of the town.
Some Milanese come and have a drink here.
