[ Sept.2015 ] There seemed to be many museums in the Residenzschloss in Dresden, in Germany.
Because we did not do our research beforehand, when the ticket office person asked ” Which museum?”, we were stuck.
There happened to be a man next to us who wanted to sell his tickets that he had bought for a tour and he explained things to us.
So, we bought the tickets from him, but this happened in front of the ticket office, so it is not illegal probably.
We went to the treasure chamber called “Historical Green Vault”.
They display the treasures Augustus I, the Strong, and his son collected.
The security was very tight.
Photography was strictly prohibited (this is a photo of the outside) and on top of that, we had to leave our bags and jackets at the door.
They charged 1 euro each, even though leaving things was compulsory, which I thought was not fair.
To enter the chamber, we had to go through double doors, like in Italian banks.
They had many languages for the audio guide.
First, we went through the Amber Room.
I love amber, so I was fascinated by the wonderful containers and cabinets.
Most of them were from Kaliningrad, as expected.
After that, we went on to Ivory Room, Silver Room, and Silver Gilt Room.
The showiest room was the Jewel Room.
The most outstanding item there was the statue of a black man holding an emerald gemstone.
There were so many impressive things there, but apparently this collection was only a half of what they had.
The museums closed at 6pm exactly.
We were even kicked out from the shop.
