[ June, 2014 ] After seeing the festival in Bettolle, a small town in Tuscany in Italy, we drove for a while looking for the restaurant we had found in the internet.
We followed the navigator, but the road went up and up and I started worried, because my husband who was the driver has got some sort of phobia of cliffs.
Sure enough he could not go further at one point and we got stuck in a mountain far from villages.
So we called the police for help.
After some time, Carabinieri came.
Carabinieri is the police under the Ministry of Defence, which means it is a part of military force.
Polizia’s cars are blue and white, like an icecream maker’s car, but Carabinieri’s are dark blue with a red line and dignified.
I always felt a bit scary about them, but the two Carabinieris who came for us were very kind.
One drove our car and took us back down safely.
